This Privacy Policy explains how 21hop ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit 21hop.com, create an account, purchase a subscription, contact us, or use the 21hop dedicated-IP VPN service (the "Service").
21hop is a VPN service provided by Unify Media Ltd., a company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The company is responsible for the personal information described in this policy and has designated a Privacy Officer. Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to our Alberta operations, and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may apply to interprovincial and international commercial activities.
We do not log the websites, online services, DNS requests, or content you access through the VPN, and we do not inspect or retain the contents of your VPN traffic. We do not sell personal information or use VPN activity for advertising.
A dedicated IP is assigned to a particular paid VPN instance and is therefore linked in our systems to the account that controls that instance. A dedicated IP should not be treated as anonymous or shared among unrelated customers. We retain limited connection and security records as described below to operate the Service, provide support, and address abuse.
We use personal information for reasonable purposes connected with the Service, including to:
We may disclose personal information to payment processors and card networks; hosting, networking, cloud, security, analytics, communications, and support providers; professional advisers; and authorities or other parties when required or permitted by law. We may also transfer information in connection with a financing, merger, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law. Service providers receive only the information reasonably required for their role.
We may disclose or preserve information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our Terms of Service. We evaluate requests in accordance with applicable law.
Purchases made directly through 21hop are sold by us. Independent payment processors process payment credentials and related transaction or fraud-prevention information under their own privacy notices and legal obligations. The processor may vary by payment method, currency, country, or availability and may be identified at checkout or on your receipt.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy and for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution requirements. Service and connection metadata used for service integrity and abuse prevention is retained for no more than 30 days on a rolling basis, except where a specific record must be preserved for longer to investigate a security incident, address suspected abuse, resolve a dispute, or comply with law. When information is no longer reasonably required, we delete it or render it non-identifying.
The Service uses providers and infrastructure in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Personal information processed outside your province or country may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and accessible to its courts, law-enforcement, or regulatory authorities. We use contractual and other measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about our policies and practices concerning service providers outside Canada.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls and security monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by applicable law.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask how it has been used or disclosed, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or request deletion where we are not required to retain it. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide a feature or the Service. Depending on your location, additional rights may apply. We may verify your identity before responding. If we cannot resolve a privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or, where PIPEDA applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Our website may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
We may update this policy by posting a revised version and changing the effective date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes when required by law.
